With chilly temperatures, and a snowfall earlier this week, winter appears to be making an earlier showing in northern Utah than some had hoped.
Temperatures across the Salt Lake valley ranging from a 38 degrees in Draper to 41 degrees in Salt Lake City this afternoon squashed any hopes of vegetable gardens rebounding. Tonights low temperatures will surely kill any remaining vegetation, summer squash plants already lost out during the earlier cold spell.
Being Utah however, the early cold spell could evaporate and end with a warmer than usual October. Until then, pull out the hot cocoa or hot tea and enjoy the blustery afternoon.
