Forget New England, Utah Has Spectacular Fall Leaves Display: Submitted by: Staff Writer / Nick J. West (September 27th, 2009) | Date Added: 2 Sep 2017 Ingredients:

The mention of viewing the best fall colors brings to mind northeasten states like Vermont or New Hampshire. And yes, these states have wonderful displays of fall colors, especially the red maples of the famed Maple Syrup from New England.

Utah however, has equally impressive displays, and in many ways a superior fall color display because of our high mountains, mountain valleys and a tree variety that adds to the varied colors. Yellow aspens, red oaks, red orange maples and everything in between.

This years display is in full blaze this weekend and next, with the Alpine Loop and Cache Valley being some of the local favorites.

I personally enjoy Payson Canyon and the Nebo Loop that wraps around Nebo Mountain from Payson to Nephi. It's slightly less traveled, allowing you plenty of opportunities to pull off and enjoy the vistas.
